This is a great opportunity for a talented embedded software engineer to join a market leader with over 40 years of specialist knowledge ,providing financial and credit systems to an extensive client base.
Working within a small team, you will be working with cutting edge technology to enchane existing systems and develop new frameworks.
Based in Southampton you will be working within a friendly, professional and team based environment.
Key Skills
• Strong coding skills in C and C++
• Strong understanding of EMV, Embedded Linux, TCP IP, SSL, FTP, SFTP, XML and Cryptography.
• Able to work efficiently on embedded terminal software with limited resources.
Beneficial Skills
• Experience of developing applications using the Gemalto MagIC3 X-series payment terminal or similar online payment systems.
Key Responsibilities
The role will be 70% development and design with 30% analysis, enhancing existing systems and development new frameworks.
1.
Implement customer requirements through contributing to the design of modules of software.
2.
Modify existing code to correct problems and add new features.
3.
Meet deadlines to agreed targets and budget.
4.
Actively increase personal competence in the technologies used to develop products and to use this knowledge to improve development skills.
5.
To contribute to the review and evolution of departmental working procedures, guides and standards and apply them.
6.
Develop knowledge of the business environment with respect to the technologies and standards used.
7.
To contribute as an active and enthusiastic member of development project team in areas of planning, coding, testing, documentation and delivery of software projects.
8.
Meet commitments, produce quality code and understand the overall project objectives and project plan.
9.
Ability to take projects from inception to completion starting with defined requirements.
10.
To produce documentation and test plans for review.

Salary: £40-£50k DOE (excellent benefits)
